The Story Behind the Shoot
This was a really exciting two-part project for the launch of the Yamaha Reface mobile mini keyboards. The first half of the brief was creating the official launch trailer, and the shoot was incredible. To really sell the "mobile" nature of the product, we hit the streets of London in the absolute early hours of the morning to capture the city completely empty, giving it a very cool 28 Days Later vibe. We brought in a highly skilled parkour runner, a professional BMX rider, and several musical artists, running and gunning to capture this kinetic, high-energy action before the city woke up.
The second part of the job was a complete shift in pace. We were brought in to film the official press launch event, which Yamaha hosted at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. They had various artists doing live demonstrations of the new keyboards, and spending the day shooting in such an iconic space and capturing that live energy was a massive highlight.
